Hull has its proud history of activists who worked tirelessly to abolish the slave trade (working alongside many slaves who freed themselves through rebellions and direct action of various kinds). Today, lets put Hull on the map again, but this time for striving to abolish the arms trade.
If you are interested in getting involved (in whatever way works for you) in developing a Hull response to one of the world’s largest arms-fairs, called DSEI, (that has in the past been exposed selling torture equipment amongst other things) that happens in London every two years, then please come along to the Annex (The Hive @ The Annex, Community Enterprise Centre, Cottingham Road, Hull, HU5 2DH) on Thurs 23rd Feb at 8pm, to begin a conversation of how we can help CAAT in their protest of DSEI this September.
If you are interested we will also be holding a Quaker style meeting (an egalitarian/democratic silent gathering where anyone is free to speak into the silence if they feel so moved) from 6pm-7pm and then have a veggie bring and share meal from 7pm-8pm.
War starts here. Lets stop war here!!!
